Srinagar, Nov 27 (KNO): National Conference (NC) on Friday said an imminent drubbing awaits BJP and ‘its stooges’ in the forthcoming DDC elections who sought to capture and neutralize our institutions by dishonest means ditching all established democratic and constitutional norms. Addressing a public meeting at Khonmoh, Srinagar Party’s Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said that the people have made it a point to challenge the divisive forces that want to capture the sacred spaces of democracy and further hurt the vital interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the public meeting which was convened by party leader Ahsan Pardesi, and presided over by Party’s Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani saw a huge participation of people. District President Srinagar Peer Afaq, Dr Syed and other block and constituency level functionaries were present on the occasion. In his address, Nasir said that the Party has never changed its goal post saying that it is the Kings party which is a part and parcel of BJP’s gambit to normalize the measures which were undertaken on 5th of August 2019, he said adding, “It goes without saying that they have been solely ordained to normalize the biggest ever fraud committed on the people of J&K unconstitutionally and undemocratically,” he said. “The minions have surfaced with a sole purpose to lead a vanguard against the efforts of Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah. The newly formed amalgamation of strange bedfellows is apparently a throng of contenders for the centre’s affections; the pliant lot would not even hesitate to trade off the interests of people of J&K for petty personal gains ditching the people’s genuine aspirations. Notwithstanding anything, people living across J&K have profusely supported Dr Farooq Abdullah led PAGD in its efforts to restore what was unceremoniously, unconstitutionally, and unilaterally snatched from J&K. The new formations have surfaced with a sole agenda of helping BJP and RSS achieve its mission of disenfranchising, and dismembering the people of J&K in general and the Muslims in particular,” he said. He said that it was not PAGD which was selling an idea of unachievable idea of restoration of our constitutional rights but it was BJP and its Team-B Apni Party which is living a false dream that the people of J&K will forget the measures undertaken by GOI on 5th of August last year and get swayed by the mistruth and fabrication incessantly carried out by anti Kashmir forces. “Today we are not just voting for development, today we are voting for our identity. Every vote that goes to PAGD will strengthen the efforts of Party President and PAGD chairman Dr Farooq Abdullah in his efforts to restore J&K constitutional status,” he added. While addressing the public meet Ahsan said that despite having all facilities the BJP and its ilk is not able to garner support in the ingoing DDC pools in the two blocks Ahsan said, “The candidates that are running for DDC polls in Harwan and Khonmoh boast public support and are known for their social work and commitments for strengthening democracy. There cannot be any trade off between the genuine political aspirations of people and development. PAGD on its part caters to both , it reflects the real legitimate voice of people and also has the enormous goodwill among public to ensure all round development of any locality unlike others who were airdropped by BJP in Kashmir during previous ULB and Panchayat Polls. Those candidates were not aware of the local topography and issues concerning the people as a result have failed to deliver on ground,” he said—(KNO)
